Vera Valentinovna Alentova is a Russian theater and film actress – made famous for her leading role in the famous 1980 Soviet drama Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears.

Vera Alentova was born February 21, 1942 in Kotlas, Archangel Province, USSR. In 1961 she joined the School-Studio at the Moscow Art Theater where she met her husband Vladimir Menshov. She graduated in 1965. Her daughter Yuliya Menshova was born in 1969.
