Medical Anthropology

Although, I am receiving a message stating that there is no Medical anthropology article, there is one. I just wanted to contribute to the discussion around it and suggested that you add to the entry that Medical anthropology is now becoming linked to Biological anthropology as well as Cultural anthropology. E. g. University of Toronto's new medical anthropology program has links to both anthropological subfields.

This needs expansion!!!

[edit] Sources

The article do not have direct quotations, because it is completely related with the general bibliography quoted at the end and in the specific links. However, there are links on basic bibliography in different languages who allow the reader to look after a large spectrum of bibliography and international periodicals. One of the objects of the article is to do something not English-centered and open to other languages and to other medical anthropological traditions than those of the United Kingdom and the United States, following the pathlines traced by the recent global scope open by the book: Saillant, Francine; Genest, Serge (2005) Anthropologie médicale. Ancrages locaux, défis globaux. Quebec, Les presses de l'Université Laval (in French), translated recently to English Saillant, Francine; Genest, Serge (2007) Medical Anthropology. Regional perspectives and shared concerns. Malden, Ma, Blackwell. The article in English is quite similar to the articles in Spanish and Catalan Wikipedia, and different from the very good Portuguese one (Antropologia da saude). The differences are in some adds in the Spanish and particularly in Catalan one version to introduce the local trends of research. In an English article - even in a Spanish one-, the text had to be more general and non-specific. Comment added by Comelles (talkcontribs) 10:18, 2 January 2008.

I understand your reasoning for not having to have direct quotations, but that doesn't mean you can't refer specific assertions to their primary source material. I think the article needs more citations because the subject is an emerging subject, not as concrete as traditional anthropology. Rhetth (talk) 21:40, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] English Grammar

The present article need some grammar revision. English is not my habitual language, and the structure of the article is the same than those of the Spanish and Catalan version. So we hope that English speacking people could improve the English writing. The problems of interpretation can be discussed here

Thanks folks!
