Suzhou Subway

Suzhou Subway is a metro system currently under construction to serve the city of Suzhou, in the Jiangsu province in People's Republic of China. Line 1 is currently under construction and Line 2 will begin construction in 2009. Two other lines are also planned to be finished around 2020. When completed the total system will be 141 kilometers and have 107 stations.[1]

The first line, Line 1, began construction on December 26, 2007 and is scheduled to be completed by 2012. It is an east to west line running eastward from Lingtian Road in western Suzhou to Zhongnan Street in Suzhou Industrial Park. It will be 25 km long with 24 stations.

The 2nd route will start to be built in 2009. It is scheduled to be completed by 2012. It will run from north to south. It will run southward from Beijing-Shanghai Fast Railway Station to the South Outer Ring Road in Wuzhong Economic Development Zone. It will be 27 km and have 22 stations.
