Sabuj Maroon Swapno (also spelt as 'SABOOJ MAROON SWAPNA' or 'SABOOJ MAROON SWAPNO') ( formerly known as "Green and Maroon" ) is a fan club of Mohun Bagan AC (Kolkata). Translated to English, it means Green and Maroon Dream ( The jersey colour of Mohun Bagan is green and maroon).The aim of this organization is to fulfill the dream of the members regarding the well-being of Mohun Bagan AC.

Mohun Bagan is the most popular and famous club of Kolkata as well as in India. Right from the beginning there is a large fan base of this club. In 2007 some MOHUN BAGAN lovers built a community related to MOHUN BAGAN in Orkut and shared their views regarding the wellbeing of MOHUN BAGAN.Then they decided to convert this online community into a real life organisation and created an organisation named Green and Maroon which is now known as SABUJ MAROON SWAPNO.

At present there are more than 175 members of SABUJ MAROON SWAPNO and the popularity of this organisation is increasing day by day. The current president and vice president are Mr. Partha Roy and Mr. Arindam Banerjee respectively and the current secretary is Mr. Sanmit Sarkar.

This organisation has not been created only to cheer up MOHUN BAGAN football team in matches but also to do something which will be beneficial for the club and also to the members and supporters of this club. A number of activities have been performed by this organisation. They have welcomed the chief coach of the MOHUN BAGAN football team Mr. Carlos Alberto Pahira on 7 July,2007 and presented a lobstar made of sweet, a bouquet of flower and a football ground shape cake. On the same day they also honoured Mr. Satyajit Chatterjee,the ex-footballer and presently the assistant coach of the football team. They also gifted rose to every footballer and wished best of luck for the season.
They have also organised a programme on 15 August to renovate the marble plaques situated in the north Kolkata region related to the great history of MOHUN BAGAN.On that day the total north Kolkata region was flooded with green and maroon colour.Mr. Pranab Ganguly and Mr. Shyamal Banerjee,the two ex footballers of MOHUN BAGAN club and Mr. Gitanath Ganguly,the renowned lawyer of Kolkata High Court and also the executive committee members of MOHUN BAGAN and Mr. Debkumar Chatterjee who is also a member of MOHUN BAGAN executive committee were present as guests of that programme. They were taken to the places on a well decorated pheaton and all the members of SABUJ MAROON SWAPNO were there in front of the rally wearing the jersey, holding the scarfs of the organisation. On that day they also celebrated the independence day and also paid honour to the 1911 IFA Shield winning team and 1947 IFA Shield winning team.
They have also celebrated the birthday of the present MOHUN BAGAN footballers. They have already celebrated the birthday of promising midfielder Suman Dutta,national team defender Sanjeev Maria,another national team defender Deepak Mondal and last but not the least the popular Brazilian striker "sabuj tota" Jose Ramirez Barreto.
They have also honoured the exfootballer and olympian Mr. Krishna Chandra Paul popularly known as Kesto Paul-the goal machine of MOHUN BAGAN during the 50's on 2 October,2007.They have also given an honorary membership of their organisation to Mr. Kesto Paul.
This organisation also presented some new clothes as puja gifts to the grounds men of the club on 6 October,2007.Puja gifts were also provided to the canteen staffs.
SABUJ MAROON SWAPNO also have showed some activities for the members of this organisation. During Federation cup "SMS alert"s were provided to all the members of this organisation after every 30 minutes of the match. They also arranged a "giant screen" presentation of the derby match at Ludhiana against arch rival East Bengal in the Federation Cup semi final in the club premises for all the members and supporters of MOHUN BAGAN club.
SABUJ MAROON SWAPNO is the only fan club in India which has members out side India. Mr. Norman Hindson who is a psychiatrist in profession and came to India as the representative of the famous English Premier League club Liverpool F.C. has taken the membership of this organisation.
This organisation has taken the responsibility of the nursery football team of MOHUN BAGAN.They are trying to do something best for this team as much as they can, and their aim is to make this team the champion in the coming league. They are trying to attend every practice session of this team and to cheer up the kid stars.They have even accompanied the nursery team to their conditioning camp organised at Naihati.They have gifted expensive boots to every player of the nursery team and also gifted gloves to the goal-keepers.Of late, they have arranged for a tie-up with AMRI Hospital so that the players of nursery football team can have free medical treatments in AMRI.They have also arranged to present Man Of The Match trophy to the best player of the team on that day and also have announced to present the Man Of The Tournament award to the best player of the team in the IFA Nursery League.
The most recent achievement of this organisation is the restoration and reinstallation of the bench,related to the great history of 1911 IFA Shield winning team of MOHUNBAGAN.This bench was previously kept in the "Basu Bati".On 29 July,2007,MOHUNBAGAN officials brought this bench to the club premises and on 23 rd February,2008 SABUJ MAROON SWAPNO in association with MOHUNBAGAN has reinstalled the bench in club lawn.All the executive committee members of MOHUNBAGAN club were present during this programme.The MOHUNBAGAN nursery team players and coach Amiyo Ghosh were also present.This programme got a huge media coverage.
Famous goal keeper Oliver Kahn played his farewell match against Mohunbagan at Kolkata on 27 May, 2008.On this occasion Sabuj Maroon Swapno launched a tee shirt on which there was an image of Kahn. It became hugely popular among the Kolkata football lovers.
On 17 June, 2008 they celebrated their first birthday and hosted their official website. That programe got a huge media coverage.
On 15 August, 2008, they again organised a programme on to renovate the marble plaques situated in the north Kolkata region related to the great history of MOHUN BAGAN.Members of Sabuj Maroon Swapno celebrated this special Day. Mr. Prashanta Sarkhel and Mr.P. Kannan, the two famous ex-players of Mohun Bagan, Mr. Debkumar Chatterjee, the executive committee member of the club and Mr. Amiyo Ghosh, the nursery team coach of Mohun Bagan were there as the honourable guests. The U-12 team of Mohun Bagan was also present there. Two well-decorated phaetons were arranged – one for the guests and another for the junior players.
On 3 September,2008 they have celebrated the birthday of the Brazilian striker Jose Ramirez Barreto with great zeal. On 28 September,2008 they have presented some puja gifts to the groundsmen of Mohun Bagan.

Adding another glittering chapter to the history of Sabuj Maroon Swapno, the young and dynamic fan club of Mohun Bagan has artifact a year calendar that will seek to glorify the rich culture, heritage and tradition of Mohun Bagan Athletic club. Its an attempt on their part to make the millions of mariners to come to terms with the important dates encompassing this century old club and in the process glorify them and strike a chord with one and all associated with the club so that those dates doesn’t fade into oblivion.The calendar was officially launched at the club ground on 5 January, 2009 by Bagan talisman Jose Ramirez Barreto along with Mohun Bagan officials and players.
