Moscow metropolitan area or Moscow capital region is the largest metropolitan area in Russia and Europe, with population of about 15 million people^[1].

Moscow metropolitan area includes:

• Moscow (city),

as well as nearby towns:

• Mytishchi,
• Khimki,
• Reutov,
• Zheleznodorozhny,
• Korolyov,
• Podolsk,
• Krasnogorsk,
• Lubertsy,
• Balashikha,

and others.

Administratively, all those towns are a part of the Moscow Oblast. The metropolitan area has thus no coordinated administration structures.
