GEA Group

The GEA Group (from 2000 to 2005: mg technologies AG, before 2000: Metallgesellschaft), headquartered in Bochum, Germany, is a globally successful technology group with more than 250 companies in 50 countries. The company now focuses on specialty mechanical engineering – especially process engineering and process equipment. GEA Group technologies are applied in the food, chemical and petrochemical industries, the energy sector, air treatment and shipbuilding as well as the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. The GEA Group is one of the world's market and technology leaders in 90 per cent of its businesses.
In 2007 the GEA Group employed more than 20,000 people who generated sales of EUR 5.2 billion. The CEO is Jürg Oleas from Switzerland.

The Kestner Company was founded in Lille in 1902. In 2005, the merging of GEA Kestner with its sister companies, SCAMI Tuchenhagen and GEA Process Engineering (former NIRO France) gave birth to the new company GEA PROCESS ENGINEERING.[1]
