Frank Baumann (born 29 October 1975 in Würzburg, Bavaria) is a retired German footballer, he last plays for German club Werder Bremen.

Having started out as a midfielder at 1. FC Nuremberg, Baumann's talents were soon recognized in a defensive position, and he moved in 1999 to Werder Bremen, where he eventually became club captain.
He scored the goal that took Bremen to the 2009 UEFA Cup Final, in the second leg of the semi final against Hamburg, from a corner conceded by Hamburg after the ball had deflected off a crumpled up piece of paper thrown from the home supporters. He announced his retirement on 20 May 2009,[1] his contract ends on 30 June 2009[2]

Baumann featured in 28 internationals, scoring two goals. He played his debut for Germany in a 1-0 victory against Norway in Oslo on 14 November 1999. Baumann also took part in the 2002 FIFA World Cup (appearing in the round-of-16 match against Paraguay) and the 2004 European Football Championship (two matches).

On 26 May 2009 was announced he will become the assistant managing job by SV Werder Bremen on the side of Klaus Allofs[3].

Baumann is married to his wife Stefanie. They have a daughter Louisa and a son Moritz.[4]
