[edit] Career

Martin is a product of the Port Vale youth system after leaving his home town club Nottingham Forest, his first match was against Swindon Town on 19 April, 2008; where Port Vale were beaten 6–0.[1] Despite the heavy defeat he was praised for his performance by manager Lee Sinnott and the Port Vale fans.

After Joe Anyon broke his leg in March 2009, Martin was given his first run in the first team, playing the last ten games of the season.[2]
