[edit] Stadium

Desportivo das Aves plays at the Estádio do Clube Desportivo das Aves in Vila das Aves, Santo Tirso, Portugal. The stadium was inaugurated in 8 December 1981 and it's considered one of the best maintained in Europe. It suffered many improvements, specially in the year 2000, when Desportivo das Aves reached Portuguese first division. When the stadium was built there were 12500 seats available, but it currently seats only 7000 spectators after the club decided to place place chairs all over the stadium.

The Estádio do Clube Desportivo das Aves was one of the training grounds of the French national team during the UEFA Euro 2004, which was played in Portugal.

Due to its small seating capacity, games at this stadium can be very intense with fan groups like Força Avense, which are very passionate about the team, and whose chants can be heard throughout the stadium.

[edit] Sports Club

The Club also has football schools for junior players and two futsal teams in both men and women as well as a very successful footballing trial system.
