Algiers (Arabic: ولاية الجزائر‎) is a province in Algeria, named after its capital, Algiers, which is also the national capital. It is adopted from the old French département of Algiers and has a population of about 3 million.

It is divided into 13 districts and 57 municipalities. The districts are according to official numbering (they were numbered from west to east):

  5. Bir Mourad Raïs

  8. Sidi M'Hamed
  9. Hussein Dey
  10. El Harrach
