- Trajan starts an expedition against Parthia and annexes Armenia.
- 113-116 or after 117 - Trajan's Column is built in Rome.
- Eastern War: Osroes of Parthia violates the treaty with Rome by installing a puppet ruler in Armenia. The 60 year old emperor, Trajan, marches east without first attempting to use diplomacy to resolve the disagreement.
- Basilica Ulpia is dedicated.
