.post is a proposed top-level domain for the internet, submitted to ICANN for approval as a sponsored TLD. It would be restricted to the use of national and regional postal services[1], and private businesses that provide similar services. It is sponsored by the Universal Postal Union, an international organisation based in Bern, Switzerland. As of January 2008[update], approval and implementation has not yet happened, overshooting the deadline of 2005.[2]
