.is is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Iceland. .IS is fully liberated, with on-line payments and price fixed in Euro for foreigners.
.is is derived from the first two letters from the Icelandic spelling of Iceland: Ísland.
As of May 2009 there were 25,086 registered .is domains.[1]
According to McAfee, .is was amongst the 5 most secure TLDs in the world in 2007 and 2008.[2]
